Founded in 1984, the School has always been the backbone of the college with strong teaching and professional forces, adhering to principle of building the school with high-quality, strong majors and moral education. The Engineering Supervision was rated as Demonstration Major of Jiangsu Province in 2007. The Municipal Engineering Technology was awarded as the Provincial Five-Year Higher Vocational Demonstration Major by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education in 2009. The Construction Engineering Technology is the key major of the college. In 2010, the school was designated as the provincial curriculum reform experimental site by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.

With the concept of "service, efficiency, innovation", the college gives top priority to cultivating morality of students, and forms the characteristics of "craftsman" culture and education. Graduates are widely praised by employers. The employment rate of graduates has reached more than 95% for many years. A lot of graduates have now become technical backbones and middle-level cadres in the construction industry.
