Among above majors, the predecessor of Architectural Design, Town Planning, was founded in 1986, and is the earliest leading major in our school. It is a Jiangsu higher vocational demonstration major and an excellent major in the evaluation of the level of higher vocational operation in Jiangsu Province. Besides, the Architectural Decoration Engineering Technology was founded in 1994, and is a five-year higher vocational brand major in Jiangsu Province and a demonstration major of Changzhou higher vocational education.
Faculty:
There are 70 full-time and part-time teachers in the school, including 1 senior engineer, 15 with senior titles or above, 1 town planning expert from the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Jiangsu Province, 1 backbone talent of the “831 High-level Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Training Project” of the city, 1 provincial excellent educator, and more than 60% of teachers have the titles of “double-quality” such as National Registered Urban Planner, First-class Registered Architect, Registered Consulting Engineer and Decoration Designer, etc. In addition, there are many part-time teachers employed by enterprises.
In terms of major establishment, the school has built a major group of “Architectural Design and Decoration Engineering Technology” by focusing on the goal of improving the quality of talent training, and has established and implemented the “five-enterance” mechanism of the school-enterprise joint education, which means enterprises entering the campus, engineers entering the classrooms, teachers entering the enterprises, students entering the projects, and culture entering the environment. Through this kind of mechanism, we has established various talent cultivation models, such as “Shanghai Shijia Decoration College”, “Jiangsu Huanya Order-orientated Class”, “Jiangsu Huachun Order-orientated Class”, “Young Teachers’ Studio” and other characteristic talent cultivation models, etc.
In terms of curriculum and teaching, each major takes the analysis of vocational ability standard as the basis, determines the curriculum content according to the work content involved in the core positions, so as to form the characteristic curriculum system of higher vocational education in which professional platform and professional direction are interconnected, permeated and shared. Besides, we take the work task as the carrier, and forms the trinity mechanism of practical teaching— “teaching, learning and doing”. The guarantee system and assessment & evaluation system of practical teaching have been systematically built to form the professional teaching content and practical teaching system reflecting the characteristics of higher education and industry.
In terms of student management, the school attaches importance to cultivating and improving students' comprehensive quality, and takes “Hongmeng Drama Club” as the carrier to carry out a series of activities such as behavior and habit formation, ideals and beliefs establishment, art literacy cultivation, career ability enhancement, etc. to establish a characteristic brand of student work —Sunshine Team. The most important feature of “Sunshine” is brightness, splendor and warmth. We take “Thanksgiving Education” and “Team Quality Development” as the leading two projects, and cultivate “Sunshine Youth” through a series of activities to establish students’ core socialist values, including patriotism, dedication, honesty and friendliness.
