On Nov 30 2021, School of Architectural Art held the 2021 Sino-British graduation works exhibition at the library, presenting 42 pieces of works designed by graduates from Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College and Solent University. On the occasion of the eighth anniversary of the cooperation between JSCC and SU, this exhibition is held to showcase the commonalities between the two schools in respecting cultural differences and encouraging diversity in architectural design, as well as the different strategies in teaching methods and talent training.

The exhibited works are mainly the graduation design works of art and design majors from both sides, but there are also some poster design competition works. There are 19 entries from the British side, divided into four categories: architectural design technology, interior design decoration, interior design, international architectural design and sustainability. There are 23 entries from the Chinese side, divided into five categories: landscape planning and design, architectural design, restoration of ancient buildings, interior design for public spaces and residential spaces. The exhibition was judged by both sides, with three first prizes, eight second prizes and eight third prizes awarded to the British students, and five first prizes, seven second prizes and eleven third prizes awarded to the Chinese students.

The works are diverse in theme, rich in content and distinctive in character, full of young people's vigorous artistic passion and creativity. They reflect young people's bold attempts at new forms of architectural design, their personal understanding of design concepts and their deep sense of passion for life.

After the opening ceremony, the participating students and teachers visited the exhibition and commented on the works. It was generally agreed that the British students' design works were full of enthusiasm and worth learning from as they focused on site environment analysis, research on building technology and construction, and attention to sustainability and human health needs.

The exhibition, as a new achievement of the cooperation and exchange between the two schools, carries the deep feelings accumulated during the exchanges in the past years, as well as the common vision of both sides for the future together.
