Two lectures on modern wood structure were held on Nov 22 and Nov 29 at Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College.

Organized by Training Center and International Affairs Office, the two lectures have attracted nearly 70 students and teachers from different schools who are studying and interested in wood structure and prefabricated building.

Rishia McDowell, construction consultant from the Canada Wood was invited to deliver speeches entitled "Overview of Construction Methods for Light Wood Frame Housing" and "Engineered Wood Products".

Mrs McDowell with her rich teaching experience and in-depth explanation, elaborated the whole process of construction methods for light wood frame and different types of engineered wood products in Canada. The lectures have facilitated a better understanding of the field of wood structure for the faculties and students.

After the lecture, the faculties and Mrs McDowell had an in-depth discussion on the advantages and development trend of wood structure.

Wood structure building is an important representative of ecological building, in order to save energy, reduce emissions, and reduce the pressure on environmental resources in the whole life cycle of construction, the promotion and application of wood structure is becoming more and more the consensus of the whole society.
