In order to promote the process of internationalization of education, do a good job in the teaching management of international students and ensure the quality of international students’ education and teaching, these regulations are formulated in accordance with the spirit of the Management Measures for Enrollment and Cultivation of International Students and Quality Standards for International Students in Higher Education (Trial) and the actual situation of JSCC.
I. General Provisions
1. International students referred to in these regulations refer to foreign nationals holding foreign passports who are enrolled in our school for short-term language study, academic education and non-academic education.
2. The teaching management of international students shall refer to the Regulations on Teaching Operation of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College.
3. The teaching units receiving international students are responsible for the organization and implementation of the teaching of international students, and the Academic Affairs Office helps to arrange and implement various teaching tasks. The teaching units should standardize the teaching process and establish and improve the teaching quality monitoring system.
4. The Foreign Affairs Office shall coordinate the teaching and daily management and services of international students in cooperation with the teaching units and relevant functional departments.
II. Cultivation Program
1. The teaching units receiving international students shall formulate corresponding talent cultivation programs according to the relevant regulations and the actual situation of the school, taking into account the specific conditions of international students, and implement them after approval.
2. Each course shall formulate appropriate curriculum standards.
III. Teaching Operation
1. The teachers who are responsible for teaching international students should be qualified as teachers in colleges and universities, with graduate degrees or above, or have the title of lecturer or above.
2. Teachers should strictly abide by the teaching standards and do a good job in teaching international students with high moral character, excellent teaching style and professionalism. Specific requirements shall be implemented with reference to the Teaching Standards for Teachers of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College.
3. Teachers shall teach in strict accordance with the training plan and curriculum standards.
4. Chinese is the basic teaching language for international students, and some courses are taught bilingually in Chinese and English.
5. Before starting the course, teachers should compile and select suitable teaching materials, carefully understand students' characteristics and training objectives, grasp students' learning bases, consider the links between this course and related courses, understand the teaching of the introductory course and the arrangement of subsequent courses, handle the connection between courses, reasonably arrange the teaching contents, determine the teaching schedule, use suitable teaching methods and means, and pay attention to the teaching of students according to their aptitude.
6. Teachers should study the teaching content carefully, grasp the systematic, scientific and cutting-edge knowledge, and prepare a more detailed lesson plan or lecture notes, at least 1/3 of the course content should be prepared before the course starts.
7. International students should complete all stages of study in accordance with the training program and participate in the theoretical teaching, experiments, internships and practical activities as stipulated in the training program without any excuses. International students who are unable to attend classes due to sickness, business or other reasons should fulfill the leave application procedures in advance according to the Regulations on Attendance and Leave Management of Students of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College (Trial). If international students violate the discipline of classroom teaching, the Student Affairs Office will refer to the Regulations on Disciplinary Punishment for Students of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College and the Regulations on Academic Registration of International Students of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College. If the violation does not constitute a disciplinary offence, the international students will be criticized and educated by their schools.
8. If the teaching order, teaching process and teaching quality of international students are affected due to the direct or indirect responsibility of relevant personnel, and cause adverse consequences, the acts or incidents will be dealt with by referring to the existing teaching accident identification and treatment methods of the school.
IV. Assessment and Record of Results
1. International students shall take the examination of each course they take according to the requirements of the talent cultivation program. The specific requirements shall refer to the Evaluation Measures for Courses of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College (Trial).
2. If international students cannot attend the examination due to illness or other special reasons, they must apply for a deferment of the examination according to the relevant procedures of the school, otherwise they will be treated as absent from the examination.
3.International students who have completed the courses stipulated in the training program and passed the examination will be issued a graduation certificate and a corresponding study certificate.
4. The teaching units accepting international students are responsible for the record, verification, announcement, analysis and statistics of the results of the courses offered.
5. Teachers and students who violate the examination discipline will be dealt with in accordance with the Regulations on Examination Management for Full-time Students of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College (Trial).
V. Construction of Teaching Records
The teaching units receiving international students shall do a good job in filing and organizing the teaching files of international students, including teaching documents, training programs, teaching staff, teaching research, teaching activities, theoretical teaching, experimental teaching, student management, textbook development, student results, test papers and internship reports, and teaching quality monitoring. The specific requirements refer to the Implementation Rules of Teaching Archives Management of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College.
VI. By-laws
1. Any matters not covered by these regulations shall be implemented in accordance with the Regulations on Teaching Operation and Management of Jiangsu Urban and Rural Construction Vocational College.
2. These regulations shall come into force on the date of promulgation and shall be jointly interpreted by the Academic Affairs Office and the Foreign Affairs Office.
